P7 into S1 Transition Information
A welcome message from Mme jean Pierre ( Depute Head Teacher)
On behalf of all staff at St Thomas, I would like to wish you a warm welcome to our school community.
The transition from Primary to Secondary school is an important and exciting one and despite these challenging times, arrangements for our pupils’ transition to St Thomas’ have been under way for a few months.
As part of our transition programme, all pupils from our associated Primary schools have had the opportunity to meet with a Pupil Support Leader from St Thomas for a presentation and live Questions and Answers session during the month of May.
Our staff have been liaising regularly with our Primary School colleagues and other partners to ensure that we have all the relevant information to enable all pupils to have a successful transition and make the best possible start at High School in August. Where appropriate they have attended individual planning meetings and made arrangements for an enhanced transition for pupils with additional support needs.
This year , the annual 3 day P7 transition visits will take place virtually On MS Teams on 15th , 16th and 17th June.
All pupils have been invited to join a P7-S1 Transition MS Teams and over the month of June, a range of resources and activities will be posted in order to introduce pupils to their new environment.
From 15th until 17th June, pupils will be able to take part in activities posted by staff from a range of curricular areas . Pupils will be able to ask any question they may have through an appropriate channel.
At the beginning of June, we will be posting on our website a Parent Information presentation and Mr Santini and myself will be available to answer questions during a Live session on MS Teams on 17th June from 6 until 7 pm.

We are aware that in choosing to send your child to St Thomas’ you are making an act of trust and place the highest importance on the partnership we enjoy with our parents and carers as first educators of our pupils.
As well as its strong ethos of attainment and achievement, our aim is for St Thomas’ to be a welcoming and inclusive school, providing a holistic learning experience for young people to become articulate, compassionate and successful individuals. We look forward to sharing this you this experience and to meeting you in person when circumstances allow.
